Making a Display for a Local Coffee Shop
I’ve been working on giving my business a refresh. I’ve decided to be brave and put myself out there. I reached out to a local coffee shop that a friend suggested and asked if I could have a display of my products in their shop. They said yes! I started working immediately to put everything together for the display. I planned everything out. I ordered about 40 art prints and got supplies to make 8 potholders (4 singles and 4 sets). I looked at so many art print displays and settled on a clear acrylic magazine rack. I was also asked by the coffee shop to provide a sign with my story on it. I found these pretty table number signs and designed the signs on Canva to match my business cards. One sign had my story and one sign had pictures of all of my prints and prices for the prints and potholders. There was a small hiccup with the art prints. I wanted to put them in plastic sleeves but the first plastic sleeves I ordered were too small and thin and I had to return them and buy ones I’ve used in the past. Once I put the prints in the sleeves they looked a little bent so I had to order cardboard backing for all of them I also handwrote recipe cards for the potholders. I decided to have two recipes so customers could pick the one they wanted to try. I also made two cute spooky keychains for the owners as a way to say thank you for the opportunity to have my items in their shop. The day finally came for me to bring everything over to the coffee shop. I was so excited and nervous. I showed the owners, Michelle and Kelly all of my items and they loved all of it especially the keychains I made. I was super shy and awkward but I am so glad I put myself out there and got this amazing opportunity. If you have an idea or thinking baout putting yourself out there for an opportunity I highly recommend going for it.
